Tour A: Culture Experience

National Taiwan Museum Dadaocheng Wanhua District

 

National Taiwan Museum Nanmen Park invites you to visit their special exhibition Market Tours – Biology in Food” to learn more about the edible organisms where food grows, how food to be obtained and the role of edible organisms in the ecosystem. Next, we will take you to Dadaocheng for a walk. In late 1880s, Dadaocheng started to prosper in light of the opening of Tamsui Harbor and has since become the keystone of economic and cultural development. During this walk, you will see extravagant Baroque architecture, traditional Hokkien bungalows, tea houses, fabric stores, Chinese pharmacy and local eateries and get to experience the traditional lifestyle of Taipei. After a delightful walk in Dadoacheng, we will take you to Wanhua District, which is the oldest region of Taipei City and is well-known for its national historical site-Longshan Temple. You will get to see the “local treasures” that includes temples, traditional shopping street and local snacks.

 

Tour B: Nature Experience

National Museum of Marine Science and Technology Yehliu Geopark

 

National Museum of Marine Science and Technology, encompasses an area of over 500,000 square meters in the city of Keelung’s Badouzi Harbor. The museum includes an award winning museum complex, breathtaking highland viewpoints and numerous parks and trails. The museum was formerly the site of Pei-Pu Steam Power Station which was constructed in 1937 during the Japanese occupation period. The Main Exhibition Building retains the power station’s existing foundation and structure and can still be seen from inside the museum today. After visiting the museum, you will go to Yehliu Geopark which is best known for its unique rock formations, most prominent among them the various hoodoo stones that dot the almost alien-looking landscape, jutting out of the sedimentary rock in delicate spires boasting precariously balanced heads upon their thin necks.

 

Tour C: Nature Experience

Yangmingshan National Park Shung Ye Museum of Formosan Aborigines

 

Yangmingshan National Park is the only park in Taiwan that has volcanic geography and hot springs. It is next to Shamao Mountain and Qixing Mountain with Datun Mountain on the right and Guanyin Mountain in front. The magnificent mountainous scenery and comfortable weather have made Yangmingshan National Park a perfect summer resort. Total area of the park is 125 hectares, designed in traditional Chinese style. The natural beauty of the park has won it the reputation as urban forest and the Taipei garden. After visiting Yangmingshan National Park, we will treat you to Shung Ye Museum. Shung Ye Museum’s main displays introduce the natural environment of Taiwan’s indigenous peoples, their daily utensils, clothing and personal decoration, ritual objects and religious life. Films shown in the auditorium provide an understanding of the present conditions of Aboriginal life. The museum also has a special exhibition room where related exhibitions are held at regular intervals to broaden visitor’s field of concern, and to present the many faces of humankind’s culture.
