Oval-shaped structured pulsed fields with high-transverse mode order are generated by an Nd:YVO4/Cr4+:YAG laser in a near-hemispherical resonator. By the thermally-assisted variation on the pump-lasing mode-matching condition, the mode order of oval pulsed fields can be straightforwardly controlled by the pump level. Under a pump level of 4.2 W, the average output power of oval structured pulses can reach up to 1.2 W with the repetition rate and peak power respectively exceed 98 kHz and 540 W while preserving quite regular temporal behavior.
