EXHIBITION INFORMATION:

The Three About Zen Style Wu Wei-Cheng, Onaka Kazunori, Park' Sung-Wook, Group exhibition

Three of Serenity - Wu Wei-cheng, Kazunori Ohnaka, and Park Sung-Wook Joint Exhibition
One is a black-and-white expression, constructing everyday objects with texture;
Another is Japanese wabi-sabi, the beauty of imperfection in humility;
The other is natural calm, shaping a realm of kindness with simplicity.

Taiwanese visual artist Wu Wei-cheng, Japanese wabi-sabi-style ceramic artist Kazunori Ohnaka, and contemporary Korean ceramic artist Park Sung-Wook come together to taste tea, appreciate the three styles of tea ware, and enjoy the liberating world of Zen.

CHANG Ge-Ming solo exhibition

“Maybe it is a professional habit. When I walk through the market, I always judge the fish, meat, and fruits by their appearances. Compared with the ‘seasoned warriors’ (housewives), who looks, listens, asks, and feels the produce like traditional Chinese doctors, I am clearly an ignorant amateur. When I occasionally stops to pick something up to look, I cannot help but marvel at the craft of the Creator. As my obsession invariably attracts the stare of the merchant, I pay for the product, bring it home as a household decoration, and then eat it before it expires. This unending cycle reminds me of all the random encounters in my life. One day, I suddenly decided to capture their beautiful image. Therefore...”

Contemporary Taiwanese ceramic artist Chang Ke-ming has continued to transform his style for more than ten years. Following his “Make a Household” series, he is starting another chapter of his intriguing art.

12 Female Artists series:
intermediary Komia Yukina solo exhibition

Komiya Yukina was born in Okinawa, Japan in 1987 and holds a master’s degree from Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts. Because of her Taiwanese grandmother and Chinese grandfather, she has always been inspired by Taiwanese and Chinese cultures. Although she does not speak the same language with her grandparents, she is able to communicate with them through non-linguistic means, including culture, objects, and life experiences, which greatly influenced the artist’s expressions and pursuits. With the special geographical relationships, she hopes to bring peoples of different cultures closer together through her work.

This exhibition presents the ideas Komiya Yukina nurtured when she was a resident artist on Ikei Island from late last year to February this year. The winds on Ikei Island are very soothing, and Komiya Yukina was inspired by the “taste of wind.” Living on the island, she developed interest in the various tastes on the island and ideas for the lives and history of the island residents. The artist herself becomes the medium of these ideas, create new art, and conveys her experiences to visitors in THZ Gallery, Yingge.
