EXHIBITION INFORMATION:

Peter Kuo was born in Yingge in 1983 and founded Da Qian Ceramic Art Studio in 2006. His current exhibition features his “Shan Shui” series.

When we meditate, we think about things. The mind stirs because it yearns for tranquility. The state of meditation is very pleasant. When we put our palms together, our state of mind is true. Most parts of our being is like muddy water. Because it is sensitive, any sound or any vibration will send ripples through our minds. Through feelings and vision, we try to return our state of mind to tranquility.

I want to convey the beauty in my mind. Our senses of touch and vision can bring the quality of earth to our minds. This kind of white is the goodness in our minds that we want to convey. If “shui” (water) is our mind, “shan” (goodness) is our spirit, and “mei” (beauty) comes from the tranquility, then “Shan Shui” conveys our spiritual beauty.
