EXHIBITION INFORMATION:

Artist Fu Chin’s work is mainly based on deductive methods, refining and simplifying designs and colors. What is simple on the surface actually require more careful thought as well as masterful skills and taste. By closely examining the evolution of his art, we see that it is more than a pursuit of simple form and aesthetics in the visual sense, as it emanates spiritual philosophy from the simple form.

Fu Chin held his first solo exhibition in 2013 at Ho Ho Arts in Taichung. Later the same year, he received honorable mention in a competition at National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute. His “Song Dynasty Legacy” solo exhibition in Shanghai in 2013 won much praise and became sought-after items for collectors. In 2014, he was featured in the Art Tainan, Art Taipei, Art Taichung expos, and even the art gallery of the Executive Yuan. In 2015, his work was officially selected in the Third Ceramic Art Competition of the Japanese Ceramic Art Association. Each year, his exquisite works can be found in all the major art expos in Taiwan, and they have always been sought-after. The same year, his work from the Third Ceramic Art Competition was featured in Takashimaya Nihombashi Store in Tokyo, and he held a biennial solo exhibition as well as published his art album “Fu Chin’s Way of Ceramics - Inheriting the Old and Reflecting the New.” In 2015, he received honorable mention in the 68th Souzouten Fine Art Exhibition in Japan, and his work was later featured in Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum.

Fu Chin had long-term goals for himself. In addition to winning the Celadon Award at Yingge Ceramics Museum in Taiwan, he planned to challenge himself by bringing his works to competitions in Japan, where aesthetics for ceramics were different. The Japanese Ceramic Art Association’s Fourth Ceramic Art Exhibition in 2016 honored the young Fu Chin with official selection and featured him once again at Takashimaya Nihombashi Store in Tokyo. The same year, the 46th Zentoten Ceramic Art Exhibition also gave him honorable mention, and his submission “Olive of Fire” was featured in a joint exhibition in Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum. Because of his prolific career and the recognition he garnered, for his solo exhibition “Fu Chin’s Way of Ceramics - Refined Heart,” Ho Ho Art published his second personal art album. We will also present his work “Qi,” which received official selection in the 49th Tokai Traditional Craft Exhibition in Japan in 2018.
