Amazing Kaohsiung
Kaohsiung, located in the southern part of Taiwan, the city of Kaohsiung is the island's largest industrial center. The weather is generally sunny and pleasant throughout the year.
Kaohsiung is home to several popular visitor sites, including the Love River, Shoushan (Mt. Shou), Xiziwan Bay, Lotus Pond, Qijin, and the Old City of Zuoying.

The Pier-2 Art Center
The Pier-2 Art Center situated in the basin No. 3 of Kaohsiung Port, it has been made into a unique open art space, providing artists and students with an environment in which to express themselves, and has already become Kaohsiung's most popular cultural spot. All kinds of art activities are held irregularly in the District, bringing a rich artistic air to the port metropolis of Kaohsiung, and also bringing a new tide of southern art in Kaohsiung.
Love River
Love River is a very distinct river in Kaohsiung. It was previously used for shipping, transportation and leisure. The city government has recently renovated bridges, The riverbanks were beautified with greenery works and developed to be park areas, decorated with pillars chained with iron rope. The area becomes a romantic place for lovers to date with, therefore, the river was reputed as Love River. At night, lights sparkle on Love River. Visitors can take the boats on the east and west coast to look at the romantic and charming sights of Love River. Then, you might like to enjoy drinking coffee at cafes of different moods, such as cafe literary and art squares over River Mambo and golden Love River. Lianchihtan (Lotus Pond)
This famous scenic area on the northern outskirts of Kaohsiung City is noted for its profusion of temples, with the Confucius Temple at its northern edge and, in the south, the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas and the Spring and Autumn Pavilions. The pond is most beautiful in the late afternoon, when the setting sun is reflected in the water. Nearby are the ruins of the Fengshan County walls and gates, which have been designated a first-grade historic.
Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum
Completed in 2011, this popular religious culture attraction covers an area of more than 100 hectares in Kaohsiung. The Fo Guang Big Buddha behind the Main Hall towers 108 meters high, making it the tallest sitting bronze Buddha statue in Asia. The Main Hall is dedicated mainly to the holy relics of the Sakyamuni Buddha. In addition to the Main Hall, there is a permanent museum and exhibition hall. Visitors can get to experience Tea Chan, sutra transcription, or join in festive celebrations at the Five Harmonies Pagoda.
Dome of Light
Situated at the Kaohsiung MRT transfer station for the Red Line and Orange Line (Formosa Boulevard Station), the Dome of Light was created by renowned artist Narcissus Quagliata. The dome is the world's largest public art installation made from individual pieces of colored glass. The work not only adds to the beauty of the station, but also adds a new dimension to the art life of the Kaohsiung and creates a new scenic spot in the city. The dome tells the story of human life in four chronologically arranged themes: Water: The Womb of Life; Earth: Prosperity and Growth; Light: The Creative Spirit; and Fire: Destruction and Rebirth, with an overall message of love and tolerance.
National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying)
Construction of the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying) began with the aim of creating a world-level performing arts space, and two halls were established in the southern part. Not only is this the first national-level performing arts center in southern Taiwan, it is also the largest performing art and music center in East Asia. The building was designed by the Dutch architect Francine Houben, its long lines like flowing sound waves and also like stingray in the sea, inspire poetic thoughts.
Xiziwan Bay
Sizihwan Bay is known for its beautiful sunset and natural reefs, and the area includes scenic spots like the Siziwan Beach, Seaside Park, and the former British Consulate at Takao. You can enjoy the view of the sea, or gaze over Kaohsiung Port. The inscription on the gate of the Shaochuan artillery position, currently classes as a third-grade national heritage site reads “Kaohsiung Town North Gate”.
Cijin (Qijin) Beach
Qijin is a long slender island. The Lilliputian island has numerous visitor attractions and is today accessible by both ferry and car. Tianhou Temple on Miaoqian Road is a historic site dating back 300 years. Qijin Old Street is lined with restaurants selling fresh and budget-friendly seafood alfresco style.
Liuhe Tourist Night Market
You will not be considered to visit Kaohsiung if you miss out Liuhe Night Market. In daytime, the market is a straight road, and turns into prosperous market area in nighttime. There are 138 stalls in Liuhe Night Market, most of them serve snacks and provide entertainment and games for recreation. No matter what you like to have, a variety of delicious food, specialties, cold drinks, ices and seafood here are offered for your choice. Just remind you, don't miss the opportunity to taste the papaya milk and steamed salty shrimps in Kaohsiung.

For travelers who like good eating, Taipei is a foodie paradise. It is said that, on any street in Taiwan, if you walk three steps, there is a small food shop. Upon walking five steps, you shall bump into a restaurant.
