Introduction

Being innovative and creating contemporary ways to drive organizational performance is not easy – it takes time, capacity and skills that are not easily incorporated into daily practice. Accounting have a significant impact not only on decisions made by management teams but also on the behavior of investors, creditors, regulatory agencies, consumers, and employees. Under the worldwide economic landscape, it is a matter of vital importance to enhance corporate governance functions and improve financial reporting quality, preventing the increasing events of economic frauds in the current management and accounting areas.

The theme of the 2017 Annual Seminar of the Taiwan Accounting Association (TAA) is the connection between practice and theory in accounting. This annual meeting aims to explore the future developments in accounting and auditing in terms of practice and theory. This symposium will invite international well-known accounting scholars to share and inherit the relevant experience of accounting, and be held at Yang-Ming-Shan beautiful campus of Chinese Culture University at Taipei. The 2017 TAA Annual Conference organized by the Taiwan Accounting Association and the Department of Accounting of Chinese Culture University will be an excellent platform for domestic and foreign distinguished scholars and practitioners to share knowledge and experience.
