Fabrication and Characterization of Graphene-based Flexible Electrochromic Display Device

Multi-layer graphene (MLG) has been demonstrated to become more transparent in the visible range by intercalating various metallic ions. In this paper, we report the fabrication and characterization of a graphene-based flexible electrochromic device by intercalating Li ions to MLG on the Polyethylene terephthalate substrate coated with Indium Tin Oxide (ITO PET).

Fabricating a reflective-type volume Bragg gating using a PQ-DMNA/PMMA

A homemade reflective-type volume Bragg grating (VBG) with Bragg wavelength of 640 nm was fabricated using a novel hologram material, PQ-DMNA/PMMA. Then, changing the recording intensity and the concentration of PQ-DMNA/PMMA, the best exposure parameters were found and the diffraction efficiency of the grating can achieve above 0.99.

Computer-generated holographic images from fringe projection profilometry for dynamic scenes

This study proposes a three-dimensional dynamic imaging and display technique for real-existing objects. We propose an algorithm to synthesis the computer-generated holograms for the captured dynamic 3D scenes of fringe projection. Then dynamic display of 3D objects can be realized by the designed computer-generated holograms.

Multi-spectral burst digital holography

Development of Irgacure 784 doped PMMA Photopolymer for Holographic Recording

We present an investigation on the preparation and characterization of thick photopolymers for holograms recording at 532 nm. Based on our previous results of the doped photopolymer for volume holographic data storage, we develop a thick Irgacure 784 doped PMMA photopolymer with enhanced sensitivity at 532 nm.

Thin Static Waveguide Hologram with Low Coherence Light Source

Symmetry of heterodyne light waveform by tilting birefringent crystal

A novel heterodyne light source was proposed which integrated wavelength-modulated laser diode and birefringent crystal. Results indicated that the phase stability of the heterodyne light much better than those coming from EO modulator. The phase stability was 5 times better in magnitude within 15 minutes.

Using Simulated Annealing with Liquid Crystal Device for Color Pattern Recognition

In this research, we utilize the optimized filter with Mach-Zehnder joint transform correlator to identify the colorful image. We apply an initial solution to simulated annealing and execute an optimization procedure after performing minimum average correlation energy.According to the experiment, it can help us reduce the sidelobe energy.

Projection System Design of the Photo-Polymerization Additive Manufacturing for the Portable Display Application

Characterization of Azobenzene-based materials incorporated with Bis(3-aminopropyl)amine and Biphenyl for Holographic Storage

An azobenzene-based material is fabricated for holographic storage. Performances of diffraction efficiency are evaluated as well. With an illumination power approximately 80mW/cm^2, a holographic grating can be formed in 20 seconds.

3D Image Rebuilding Based on One Dimension Scanning Fringe Projection Setup

A scanning fringe projection technique is presented to retrieve the 3D shape of an object with large depth discontinuities. A 2D sinusoidal pattern is employed as the projected pattern. With a reliable image processing algorithm, noises and errors are efficiently detected and reduced and then the 3-D image is rebuilt.

The Monochrome Head-Mounted Display Based on Full-color Image Source

In this pepper, we propose a see-through HMD base on HOEs which can be combined with helmets. This system mainly includes two HOEs, a full-color projector with white light source, and a helmet. It can provide instant information to the human eye.

Sending optical information through a thin turbid medium using in-line digital holographic technique

A method of sending optical information through thin turbid media using in-line digital holography is presented. The working principle and optical experiments are presented and discussed. The result also shows the feasibility of in-line digital holography as lensless 3D imaging tool with high resolution.

Design, Analysis, and Implementation of Double Fresnel-Mirror System (DFMS)

To be applied to 3D volumetric display, an optical system consisting of two Fresnel mirrors was presented. The lateral and the longitudinal magnifications were derived from the theory of Fourier optics, and the best exit aperture was found based on the simulations using a Matlab code.

Dual Displacement Resolution Laser Encoder with Triple Gratings and Heterodyne Interferometer

A novel laser encoder for displacement measurement was proposed.The encoder was integrated with the optimal triple gratings combination and heterodyne interferometer.The optimal sensitivity, resolution, and displacement error can be approximated of 0.72 degree/nm, 0.1 nm, and smaller than 10 nm.The results showed that no displacement difference between HP interferometer.

Influence of mis-alignment on the optical properties of SP2 Woodpile Photonic Crystal

We want to realize how the dislocation between two photonic crystals influence its optical properties. We use TMM(Transfer Matrix Method) simulation to simulate and observe the reflectance spectrum. In this paper, the preliminary simulation results will be present and discuss.

Prism-hologram-prism sandwiched recording method for polarization-selective substrate-mode volume holograms

A polarization-selective substrate-mode volume holograms with large diffraction angle is fabricated by a prism-hologram-prism sandwiched recording method. The experimental results are in a good agreement with theoretical predictions. Additionally, the method is much easier than traditional recording method of two incident beam interference and has application potential in holographic photonics.

Volume Holographic Spatial Mode Shaper for Airy Beams

Using volume holography, we present a simple technique to simultaneously generate five structural variants of Airy beams from single holographic optical element. Angularly Multiplexed Volume Holographic Gratings (AMVHGs) correspond to five different Airy beams are recorded by successive illumination of PQ:PMMA photopolymer in angular multiplex scheme for this purpose.

Real-time Hologram Generation for Horizontally Full-viewing Zone Holographic 3D Display\\ Using Graphics Processing Unit

A series of binarized computer-generated holograms (CGHs) required for horizontally full-viewing zone holographic three-dimensional (3D) display are generated rapidly. They are transferred to a digital mircromirror device (DMD) and are reconstructed in real-time. An optical demonstration has been performed to verify the real-time hologram generation.

Experiment of Ghost Imaging by Liquid Crystal Spatial Light Modulator

We applied liquid crystal (LC) spatial light modulator (SLM) to implement the experiment of ghost imaging. However, LC-SLM has some annoying problems, including light leakage in dark state and the nonlinear modulation properties. Therefore, we proposed a method to calibrate the experimental data.

A Dual-wavelength Interferometry for Measuring the Object Surface Profile

This paper proposes a method to measure the surface profile of an object that is based on a dual-wavelength Twyman–Green interferometer. To validate the proposed method, the surface profile of a standard gauge block was measured. This method has the merits of a simple structure and rapid measurement.
