Three dimensional computer-generated holography by oblique optimization
Chih-Hao Chuang;Chuan-Feng Kuo;Hoang-Yan Lin;Chien-Yu Chen

We proposed an off-axis optical system to reconstruct images. The system adopts modified Gerchberg-Saxton algorithm (MGSA) to produce the computer generated pahse-only function, then the information will be transform to image by LCoS. Image quality was evaluated using root mean square error, structural similarity, and signal to noise ratio.

A Scheme of Scrambling SLM-based Holographic Coding Patterns to Enhance Optical Confidentiality
Chun-Cheih Liu;Chao-Chin Yang;Jen-Fa Huang;Chung-Hao Li

Spatial light modulators (SLMs) is devised as a reconfigurable optical coding access device with computer-generated hologram (CGH) coding patterns scrambled for secure optical data communications. By using SLMs we can modulate users’ data signal with different CGH pattern array to prevent from deciphering of eavesdropper.

The effect of surface spots and subset size on digital image correlation
Zhining Su;Juyi Lee

Digital image correlation (DIC) is a non-contact optical-numerical technique to measure shape, motion, and deformation. It is based on the displacement of the characteristic spots on the surface, so this paper will explore the relationship between the parameters such as spots, subsets, and seed points and propose a better solution.

Application of Papoulis-Gerchberg Algorithm in Image Enhancement Through a Contaminated System
Chi-Chen Chen;Chung-Hao Tien

In this study, we developed a method to enhance the quality of images from a contaminated imaging system by adding a priori information as the constraints for the iterative process. By means of the Papoulis-Gerchberg (P-G) algorithm, we can achieve an effective image enhancement.

Diffraction enhancement of nano-particle doped volume holographic gratings with piezo-electric transducer
hung lin wu;Yuan Luo;Kuang-Yuh Huang;Haw Hsiao

Multiplane microscopy with volume holographic gratings (VHGs) has been utilized, to image three-dimensional structures from different depths at the same time, for a variety of applications. However, high diffraction efficiency is always required. Here, we present nano-particle doped VHGs using a feedback piezo-electric transducer (PZT) system to enhance diffraction efficiency.

Rapid Calculation of Large Diffractive Optical Elements Using Multiple Perturbations in Simulated Annealing Algorithm
Hsiang-Yu Yang;Wei-Feng Hsu

We presented a novel mechanism for generating neighborhood configuration in the simulated annealing algorithm to speed up the evolution of optimizing the diffractive optical element (DOE). With 60% time reduced, we still maintained similar high quality of images reconstructed from DOEs compared with the traditional SA method.

Modified Hashing Algorithm Used for the Real Time Morning of Insects Number and Location Detections on Fruit Trees’ Leaves
Yen-Jia Liou;Wu-Jang Huang

We have developed a modified hashing algorithm for the real time morning of insects locations on the fruits leaves. Results show that the fluctuation of Hamming distance is not only proportional to insect numbers, but also related to the location on the leaves.
