Transportation Information

Gyeongju does not have an airport, but has three railway stations (Singyeongju, Gyeongju, and Seogyeongju), and two transfer bus terminals (Gyeongju Express Bus Terminal, and Gyeongju Intercity Bus Terminal). High-speed rail (KTX) does not serve Gyeongju Station located in central Gyeongju, but the line stops at the Singyeongju Station, west of Gyeongju’s city center. The Gyeongbu Expressway, which runs from Seoul to Busan, passes through Gyeongju and provincial and national highways crisscross the city. Since the city is a popular tourist destination, nonstop bus services are available from most major cities in South Korea. Please note that participants have the following options for their trip to the K-Hotel Gyeongju, depending on at which airport they disembark on their arrivals.

 

OPTION 1 - Busan to Gyeongju

Airport limousine bus departs from Gimhae International Airport (PUS, Busan) and arrives at Gyeongju Express Bus Terminal in 1 hour and 10 minutes. The service is available 6 times per day. There is also a direct bus departing from Busan Sasang Bus Terminal and arriving at Gyeongju Express Bus Terminal, which takes approximately 1 hour. You may then hire a taxi from Gyeongju Express Bus Terminal to reach the K-Hotel, which takes 20 minutes. Alternatively, if you transfer from Gimhae Airport to Busan Train Station, you can use high-speed KTX train to travel from Busan to Singyeongju Station in 30 minutes. A regular train (Mugunghwa) service is also available, departing from Sinhaeundae Station, Busan, and arriving at Gyeongju Station, which takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Between train stations and the K-Hotel, you may use taxi service, which takes 20 minutes.

 

OPTION 2 - Seoul to Gyeongju

Airport Limousine departs from Incheon International Airport (ICN, Seoul) and arrives at Gyeongju Intercity Bus Terminal. The journey takes 5 hours and 30 minutes. The service is available 6 times on a daily basis. Alternatively, you may use train services from Seoul Station. High-speed Train (KTX) connects Seoul Station and Singyeongju Station, which takes 2 hours and 10 minutes. There is also a regular train (Saemaeul) service, departing from Seoul Station and arriving at Seogyeongju Station. From train stations, you may hire a taxi to reach the K-Hotel.

 

OPTION 3 – Daegu to Gyeongju

You can use a taxi service from Daegu International Airport (TAE, Daegu) to Dongdaegu Bus Terminal in 15 minutes. Express bus service is available from Dongdaegu Bus Terminal to Gyeongju Express Bus Terminal, which takes 50 minutes. From the Bus Terminal, it takes 20 minutes to get to the K-Hotel by taxi.

 

On 20^th June, KAA will provide a free chartered bus transportation from Busan to the K-Hotel, Gyeongju departing at 3:00 p.m. from the International Terminal of Gimhae International Airport, Busan. In addition, KAA will also arrange for free shuttle bus services between Singyeonju Station, Gyeongju Station, Gyeongju Express Bus Terminal, Gyeongju Intercity Bus Terminal and the K-Hotel Gyeongju for the duration of the conference from 21^st to 22^nd June 2019.
